HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MEETING:
Thomas Maynard from Greater Phoenix Economic Council showcased the growth of Phoenix and dispelled some rumors on energy and water. Here were the most interesting takeaways:

~Phoenix is outpacing the national average of GDP growth reporting 4.5% over the national 2.8%

~Phoenix is a diversified market and no longer a one-trick pony

~Nearly 17% of business prospecting comes from California businesses looking to relocate and 26% from international neighbors like Japan, Germany, Canada, and the UK driven by the semi-conductor boom

~80% of prospective projects are industrial like manufacturing, warehouse and new headquarters

~Arizona uses the same amount of water today as it did in 1957! This is mostly due to agriculture being converted to commercial
_ Only 30% of our water comes from the Colorado River. SRP is a great secret in Arizona as nobody out side Arizona knows who SRP is. SRP provides electricity to over 2 million customers and water from the great White Mountain watershed.

~AZ now has 1.89x more water stored than used
